Orphan

April 13th, 2012.

That was the last time
I looked in the mirror
And saw
A daughter
Staring back at me.

Children
Are the ones who grow
Up
And
Outward
But for us –
It was
You
Who
Outgrew
Me

I’m sorry
For the child I was
I was just
Lost
Confused
Scared

I’m sorry
It was
Him I missed
Him I cried for
Him I needed

When it was
Him who wronged you
Him who hurt you
Him who changed us

I’m sorry
That it affected
My life so

But that was then
And this is now

Years came
Years went

And
Somewhere
Along
The line

You
Forgot

Forgot that you are a
Mother
Forgot that you have
A daughter

Forgot that one
“Happy Birthday”
Can
Make
A
Difference

So now
Here I am

Two parents
Walking the world
One –
God knows where
The other –
Beneath my roof
Without
A thought spent
On their
Faded
Daughter

And all that’s left
Is the
Broken
Heart
Of a
Self-Proclaimed
Orphan

Day 14: Craving Satisfied

burritoboyz
Chicken burrito filled with vegan mexican rice, triple blended tex mex cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, green onions, red onions, green peppers, cilantro, corn, creamy chili lime burrito sauce, sour cream, mild salsa, and their homemade xxx hot sauce

Finally got my hands on one of these bad boys! I’ve been craving for Burrito Boyz since Saturday. That night, Mark totally forgot to pick some up and then Sunday, there was too little time between his baseball practice and the Raptors/Nets game to go and get some. But today, Mark delivered and I am not only a happy wife, I’m now a bloated one. 🙂

All About Audrey

So I’m a little late. There was the Raptors/Nets game that devastated me. There was “Game of Thrones”, which I obviously could not miss. But better late than never, right?

There is no leading lady I idolize more than the one-in-a-million Audrey Hepburn. She has this essence about her that is impossible to duplicate. Every character she has played could not have been done better by anyone else, this I fervently believe. More Audrey?

Day 13: A New Thermos, A New Read, A New Delicacy

To celebrate Audrey’s Day, I finally dug out the unused thermos I got last month! Also taking a break from “Persuasion” for something a little more readable.

Homemade crepes, Nutella, strawberries, walnut ice cream ❤

As usual, the people in my life love to make it harder for me to turn down delicious looking food. My brother-in-law, Chris, whipped this up for us today!

Breathe it all in. Love it all out.
